Adherence

Relying solely on Fasting Plasma Glucose (FPG) for diagnosis misses a significant number of diabetes cases in Korean populations; OGTT or HbA1c is required for accurate diagnosis.

If you are Asian or have a lower body weight, a normal fasting blood sugar might not mean you are safe. You may have high blood sugar after eating. Ask your doctor about an OGTT or HbA1c test if you have risk factors.

ModerateRefutesMEDIUM confidence
Korean adults with diabetes tend to be less obese than the Western counterparts, exhibit relatively low insulin secretion, and often present with only postprandial hyperglycemia... relying solely on FPG may miss a significant number of diabetes cases.
