Dietary intervention (weight loss maintenance) increases fasting ghrelin levels and decreases chemerin levels, independent of macronutrient composition.
After weight loss, your body naturally increases hunger signals (ghrelin) and decreases inflammation markers (chemerin). This happens regardless of whether you eat low fat, low carb, or low glycemic index foods. This is a normal physiological response to weight loss.
