Systematic dietary intervention significantly improves the consumption of Unsaturated Fatty Acids (UFA) and fruits/vegetables in ischemic stroke patients, but does not significantly reduce Saturated Fatty Acid (SFA) intake.
When changing your diet after a stroke, focus on adding more fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats (like fish and olive oil). You may not see a significant drop in saturated fats (like butter or cheese) immediately, but the increase in healthy components is the key benefit of the intervention.

This improvement was also found in the fruit and vegetables score (2.0 ± 2.6 vs. 0.6 ± 2.2, p = 0.0047) and UFA score (1.8 ± 2.7 vs. 0.1 ± 3.3, p = 0.0238). We did not find significant differences in alcohol score... and SFA score...
