Adherence
Consistent daily self-weighing is independently associated with less weight regain and successful long-term weight loss maintenance.
Weigh yourself daily at the same time. Do not let the number dictate your mood; use it as a dashboard light. If the number goes up, adjust your food or activity slightly immediately. This prevents small gains from becoming large regains.
ModerateSupportsMEDIUM confidence
Consistent and more intensive self-weighing may allow individuals to catch weight gains before they escalate and make behavior changes to prevent additional weight gain.
Why this rating
Observational study of successful maintainers; authors acknowledge cross-sectional nature limits causal inference.
