Wearable technologies, specifically pedometers, increase physical activity levels in people with Type 2 Diabetes, but this increase does not necessarily translate to improved HbA1c levels.
Wearing a pedometer will likely help you walk more. However, just walking more might not be enough to lower your blood sugar (HbA1c). You should combine this with other diabetes management strategies like diet control.

Pedometer use was associated with increased physical activity (an increment of ~1,800 steps/day)... Despite this increase in physical activity, there was no change in HbA1c, even in the subgroup with goal setting included in their intervention.
