Fat adaptation followed by carbohydrate restoration attenuates the exercise-induced rise in AMPK activity compared to a high-carbohydrate diet.
If you perform fat adaptation, your body may show a blunted AMPK response to subsequent exercise compared to when you are on a high-carb diet. This suggests a shift in how the muscle signals energy status during work.
