Adherence
A blended lifestyle intervention combining one face-to-face session, monthly telephone coaching, and a mobile app (MELINDA) improves weight goal achievement in women with glucose intolerance after gestational diabetes mellitus compared to standard care.
If you had gestational diabetes and currently have high blood sugar levels after birth, this program offers a structured way to lose weight and prevent type 2 diabetes. It involves one initial meeting with a health coach, followed by monthly phone calls and using a specific app to track your diet, activity, and weight. The goal is to lose 5% of your body weight if you were overweight before pregnancy, or return to your pre-pregnancy weight if you were not. This approach is designed to be flexible and address the specific challenges of being a new mother, such as lack of time and childcare issues.
Women in the intervention group will receive a blended program, based on one face-to-face education session and further follow-up through a mobile application and monthly telephone advice. ... Primary endpoint is the frequency of weight goal achievement (≥5% weight loss if pre-pregnancy BMI ≥ 25 Kg/m2 or return to pre-gravid weight if BMI < 25 Kg/m2).
Why this rating
This is a study protocol/design paper; results are not yet published, so evidence quality is based on the rigor of the proposed RCT design rather than observed outcomes.
