Adherence
Post-intervention weight regain occurs after a workplace weight-loss program, with participants regaining approximately half of their initial weight loss within 3-6 months if contact frequency is reduced.
Plan for maintenance from day one. After your initial weight loss program ends, schedule regular check-ins (monthly or quarterly) with a coach or support group to prevent regaining the weight. Do not assume the weight will stay off without continued effort.
ModerateQualifiesLOW confidence
On average participants regained 8 pounds, which was less than the initial weight loss (16 lbs., N = 27)... The post-intervention weight gain observed in some of the participants in our study could be partly explained by the substantially reduced number of contacts/appointments made with weight-loss experts.
Why this rating
Small subsample (N=27) for follow-up, no statistical testing performed due to low power, but pattern is clear.
