Adherence
Adherence to Time-Restricted Feeding (TRF) is generally high and well-tolerated, with compliance rates of 65-75% in short-term studies, and greater fasting duration is associated with higher adherence.
If you are worried about sticking to a diet, TRF is a good option. Most people find it easy to follow, with about 7 out of 10 people sticking to it for several months. Interestingly, people who fast for longer periods (e.g., 12 hours) often stick with it better than those who fast for shorter periods.
TRF with 8–12 h of fasting is reported by many studies to be well-tolerated by patients, and surprisingly, the greater the adherence rate, the longer the period of fasting... Studies reported 65–75% compliance during the trial period
Why this rating
Based on self-reported compliance in various studies; objective measures are noted as potentially more accurate but less common.

- Intermittent Energy Restriction (IER) diets, including Alternate-Day Fasting (ADF) and Time-Restricted Feeding (TRF), produce weight loss and metabolic improvements (reduced triglycerides, LDL, and blood pressure) that are comparable to Continuous Energy Restriction (CER) diets when total caloric intake is matched.Good
- Intermittent Fasting improves metabolic health markers, including insulin sensitivity, lipid profiles (reduced triglycerides and LDL), and blood pressure, independent of weight loss magnitude, through mechanisms involving ketone body production and hormonal regulation.Good
