Adherence
Adherence to behavioral advice (diet, exercise, smoking cessation) is associated with a substantially lower risk of recurrent cardiovascular events.
For heart patients, sticking to advice on diet, exercise, and quitting smoking is crucial for preventing another heart event. Even small improvements in these areas can significantly lower your risk.
ModerateSupportsMEDIUM confidence
More recently an observational analysis in acute coronary syndrome patients from the OASIS trial showed that adherence to behavioural advice (diet, exercise and smoking cessation) was associated with a substantially lower risk of recurrent cardiovascular events.
Why this rating
Based on an observational analysis, which is lower quality than RCTs.
