Macro partitioning

Comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation (exercise plus education/psychosocial support) significantly reduces total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol, whereas exercise-only interventions do not significantly affect these lipid profiles.

If your goal is to lower cholesterol, exercise alone may not be enough. You likely need a comprehensive program that includes education and psychological support alongside exercise to see significant improvements in total and LDL cholesterol.

There was a significant net reduction in total cholesterol (pooled WMD random effects model -0.57 mmol/l 95% confidence interval -0.83 to -0.31) and LDL (pooled WMD random effects model -0.51 mmol/l 95% confidence interval-0.82 -0.19) in the comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation group... but not the exercise only group.
