You need a structured program that includes weekly lessons, regular self-monitoring of your diet and activity, and direct, personalized feedback from a therapist. This approach was shown to be significantly more effective than just having links to weight loss websites.
Participants who were given a structured behavioral treatment program with weekly contact and individualized feedback had better weight loss compared with those given links to educational Web sites.
