High fructose consumption reduces satiety signaling by lowering leptin and ghrelin responses compared to glucose, leading to increased caloric intake and weight gain.
Be aware that fructose does not make you feel as full as glucose. This can lead to consuming more calories overall, contributing to weight gain.
