Vitamin D supplementation (≥792 IU/day) significantly reduces the risk of hip fractures (by 30%) and non-vertebral fractures (by 14%) in adults, particularly when combined with calcium.

To reduce fracture risk, aim for 800 IU of Vitamin D3 daily, ideally combined with 1200mg of Calcium. This combination has been shown in large studies to significantly lower hip and non-vertebral fracture rates. Ensure you are actually taking the supplement consistently, as poor adherence negates benefits.
