Eight weeks of resistance exercise reduces intrahepatic lipid (liver fat) by approximately 13% in adults with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) without causing any change in body weight or visceral fat.

If you have fatty liver, you do not need to lose weight to start improving your liver health. Start a resistance training program (lifting weights) 3 times a week. Focus on progressive overload (lifting heavier over time) rather than burning calories through cardio. You will likely see improvements in liver fat and insulin sensitivity even if the scale stays exactly the same.
