Aerobic exercise improves LDL particle quality (size/density) and reduces postprandial triglycerides, even when total fasting LDL-C levels remain unchanged.
Don't be discouraged if your total LDL number stays the same. Exercise makes your LDL particles larger and less dangerous, which protects your arteries. This benefit occurs even without weight loss.
ModerateQualifiesMEDIUM confidence
LDL-C did not change significantly, but the concentration of atherogenic small LDL particles decreased, and the average size of LDL particles increased
Why this rating
Findings are described as 'discordant' and 'discrepant' in the text, requiring more studies.

- Aerobic exercise consistently increases HDL-C levels (including protective HDL2-C subfractions) and reduces triglycerides, serving as a viable non-pharmacological intervention for dyslipidemia.Good
- Short-term aerobic exercise (as little as 4 days) significantly improves postprandial lipid profiles, reducing non-fasting triglycerides and LDL remnants.Good

- Initial treatment for type 2 diabetes should be a combination of metformin and either an SGLT-2 inhibitor or a GLP-1 receptor agonist to achieve cardiorenal protection, rather than monotherapy or older agents like sulfonylureas.Strong
- For patients with specific monogenic obesity syndromes (leptin deficiency, POMC/PCSK1/LEPR mutations), targeted pharmacotherapy (recombinant leptin or setmelanotide) is highly effective and should be prioritized, unlike in polygenic obesity.Strong
- Continued weekly administration of 2.4 mg subcutaneous semaglutide prevents weight regain and promotes further weight loss in adults with overweight or obesity, whereas switching to placebo results in significant weight regain.Strong
