Six days of high-fructose overfeeding induces hepatic and adipose tissue insulin resistance and hypertriglyceridemia in healthy men, despite maintaining normal whole-body insulin sensitivity.

Eating large amounts of fructose (e.g., via sugary drinks or high-fructose foods) on top of your normal diet can rapidly impair how your liver and fat tissue respond to insulin, even if your overall blood sugar control looks normal.
