If you sit for long periods, don't just stand up. Get up and move with light physical activity (like walking or cycling) for short breaks throughout the day. This actively lowers your blood sugar and insulin levels after eating, which is better for metabolic health than just sitting or standing still.
The use of PA breaks during sitting moderately attenuated post-prandial glucose, insulin, and TAG, with greater glycaemic attenuation in people with higher BMI.
