Oral creatine supplementation (5g daily) accelerates the recovery of muscle cross-sectional area and maximal power output during rehabilitation from disuse atrophy compared to placebo.

If you are recovering from an injury that requires immobilization or reduced activity, taking 5g of creatine monohydrate daily during your rehabilitation training can help you regain muscle mass and strength faster than training alone. Start with a higher dose (20g/day) if you are currently immobilized, then drop to 5g/day once you resume active training.
