If you have hypothalamic amenorrhea due to over-exercising or undereating, standard estrogen therapy won't fix your fertility or bone health. This research shows that replacing the missing hormone leptin (via metreleptin injections) can restart your period and restore hormonal balance, even if you haven't gained weight yet.
