Testosterone treatment in older men with low testosterone improves walking distance and perceived mobility, although the effect on slow walkers is small.
Testosterone therapy may slightly improve your walking distance and perceived mobility, especially if you are not a slow walker. The effect is small, but it may still be clinically important for maintaining independence. The treatment involves daily application of a gel, with dose adjustments to keep levels in the normal range for young men.

Testosterone, however, did substantially improve these two parameters when the data from all 788 men in the TTrials were analyzed... Importantly, both the men who qualified for the trial and all the men who were treated with testosterone perceived that their walking had improved more than did the men treated with placebo.
