Menopausal stage (early/late transition, postmenopause) is associated with increased odds of self-reported sleep difficulties, particularly frequent awakenings, independent of age.
Track your sleep relative to your menopausal stage. If you are in perimenopause or postmenopause, expect a higher likelihood of sleep issues like frequent awakenings. This is a statistical norm, not a personal failure. Proactive management (CBT-I, treating HFs) is recommended.
