Daily intake of Lactobacillus reuteri (2x10^10 cells) for 4 weeks increases glucose-stimulated GLP-1 and GLP-2 secretion, which in turn increases insulin and C-peptide secretion in glucose-tolerant humans.

Taking Lactobacillus reuteri (20 billion cells twice daily) for a month can boost your body's production of GLP-1 and GLP-2 hormones after meals, which helps your pancreas release more insulin. However, this does not make your body more sensitive to insulin or help you lose weight if you are already healthy. It is a specific hormonal boost, not a general metabolic fix.
