McManus et al. (2016) reported that a single dose of DHA, but not EPA, significantly improved postprandial arterial stiffness compared to the control, as assessed by augmentation index, which, if sustained, would be associated with a significant decrease in CVD risk. Armah et al. (2008) found that postprandial triacylglycerol-rich lipoproteins, isolated after a high DHA fish oil meal, increased endothelial nitric oxide synthase and decreased nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) oxidase gene expression compared to the control meal.
