Supplementation with 500 mg/day of water-soluble cinnamon extract (Cinnulin PF) for 12 weeks significantly reduces fasting blood glucose and systolic blood pressure in pre-diabetic adults with metabolic syndrome.
If you are pre-diabetic and have metabolic syndrome features, a standardized water-soluble cinnamon extract (Cinnulin PF) taken at 500mg daily for 12 weeks may help lower your fasting blood sugar and systolic blood pressure. This effect was not seen in blood lipids. Ensure the product is standardized, as regular cinnamon powder varies in potency.
Subjects in the Cinnulin PF® group had significant decreases in FBG (-8.4%: 116.3 ± 12.8 mg/dL [pre] to 106.5 ± 20.1 mg/dL [post], p<0.01), SBP (-3.8%: 133 ± 14 mm Hg [pre] to 128 ± 18 mm Hg [post], p<0.001)... compared with the placebo group.
Why this rating
