Testosterone replacement therapy may have beneficial effects on cardiovascular health in men with coronary artery disease or chronic heart failure, improving exercise tolerance and vascular reactivity.
If you have heart disease, TRT might actually help your heart function and exercise capacity. It does not appear to increase heart risk and may improve blood flow. Discuss this with your cardiologist.
ModerateQualifiesMEDIUM confidence
There have been several recent reports which strongly suggest that testosterone has beneficial effects on vascular reactivity in men with coronary artery disease... Based on the currently available data, there is no convincing evidence of an adverse effect of testosterone replacement therapy on coronary heart disease or chronic heart failure, and there may be a role for testosterone in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases in men.
Why this rating
The paper cites several studies but notes that results on lipid profiles are inconsistent and more research is needed.
