Seven months of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise increases circulating adiponectin levels in obese young women.
If you are a young obese woman, engaging in moderate aerobic exercise (like brisk walking or jogging) for 30-60 minutes, 4-5 times a week, for at least 7 months can significantly improve your metabolic health markers, specifically by increasing adiponectin, which helps with insulin sensitivity. Consistency and maintaining a moderate intensity (where you can talk but not sing) are key.
The longitudinal intervention study of a 7-month moderate intensity exercise regimen resulted in a decrease in circulating leptin and TNF-(cid:1), and an increase in circulating adiponectin in 8 obese young women.
Why this rating
Small sample size (n=8) limits statistical power and generalizability, though the study design is longitudinal.
