High dietary intake of omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (specifically linoleic acid) is positively associated with an increased risk of breast cancer, particularly in individuals with specific genetic variants affecting omega-6 metabolism.

If you have a family history of breast cancer or genetic risks, consider reducing high-omega-6 oils (corn, soybean, sunflower) and increasing omega-3 sources. This may help mitigate risk, especially if you have genetic variants affecting fat metabolism.
