Nutrition education interventions in indoor team sports significantly improve dietary intake compliance, particularly in female athletes, though often still fall short of official recommendations.
If you are an indoor team athlete, seek out structured nutrition education or counseling. It works, especially for women, to improve your intake. However, do not assume you will hit all targets automatically; you likely still need to consciously push your carbohydrate and energy intake higher than your natural habits.
