Lanifibranor (800-1200 mg daily) significantly improves MASH resolution and fibrosis regression in patients with noncirrhotic MASH compared to placebo.
Lanifibranor (800-1200mg daily) is a promising late-stage drug for MASH that targets multiple metabolic pathways. It significantly improves liver health scores compared to placebo, though monitor for mild weight gain and GI issues.
ModerateSupportsMEDIUM confidence
The percentage of subjects that achieved the primary endpoint (a decrease of at least 2 points in the activity part of the SAF score without worsening of fibrosis) was significantly higher in the treatment arms compared with the placebo arm; 48% of the 800 mg arm, 55% of the 1,200 mg arm, and 33% of the placebo arm.
Why this rating
Based on Phase 2b trial (NATIVE); Phase 3 results are pending.
