For Type 2 Diabetes patients undergoing a meal tolerance test with 70g of carbohydrates, using the Area Under the Curve (AUC) method to calculate the Insulinogenic Index provides a more reliable assessment of pancreatic function than the simpler Delta ratio method. This is because the AUC method shows less data overlap and stronger correlation with daily glucose variability, offering a clearer view of how the pancreas handles carbohydrate loads.
