Chronic administration of the GLP-1/GIP dual agonist I-M-150847 significantly improves glycemic control and reduces body weight and adiposity in diet-induced obese rodents compared to the GLP-1 monoagonist exendin-4.
This preclinical study suggests that a novel dual GLP-1/GIP agonist (I-M-150847) may provide better blood sugar control and weight loss than current GLP-1-only drugs in obese individuals with type 2 diabetes. While promising in mice, human clinical data is required before this can be recommended for clinical use.
Chronic administration of I-M-150847 enhances insulin sensitivity, improves glycemic control, and achieves significant weight loss relative to the control or exendin-4-treated DIO-mice demonstrating the therapeutic efficacy of dual agonist in ameliorating type 2 Diabetes and Obesity.
