High supplemental Calcium intake (≥500 mg/day) is associated with a lower risk of type 2 diabetes, whereas dietary Calcium intake is not significantly associated after multivariate adjustment.
If you are a woman, taking a Calcium supplement providing at least 500 mg daily may be associated with a modestly lower risk of type 2 diabetes compared to not taking such supplements. However, simply eating Calcium-rich foods may not provide the same protective association in this study.
