If you are a healthy man, eating more fish (up to 6 servings a week) or increasing your marine n-3 fatty acid intake is unlikely to significantly lower your risk of coronary heart disease. While fish is part of a healthy diet, this study suggests that dietary amounts are insufficient to provide the protective cardiovascular effects often attributed to fish oil supplements, which require much higher doses.
