Energy restriction inhibits neoplastic progression in animal models, though disentangling the effects of energy restriction from reduced adiposity remains difficult.
While animal studies show energy restriction reduces tumor growth, it is unclear if this is due to the restriction itself or the resulting weight loss. Human studies are needed to clarify this.
