Energy balance

Metabolically healthy obese (MHO) is not a stable state; approximately 30% of MHO individuals convert to metabolically unhealthy obese (MUHO) over 5-10 years, primarily due to aging and additional weight gain.

Do not assume your MHO status is permanent. Regular monitoring of metabolic markers and maintaining a healthy weight and activity level are essential to prevent conversion to MUHO.
