Adherence

Combining newer self-monitoring technology (activity monitors, smart scales, and calorie tracking apps) with brief phone-based intervention improves adherence and leads to greater weight loss compared to using traditional self-monitoring tools (paper logs, standard pedometers) alone.

To lose more weight, use a combination of a fitness tracker, a smart scale, and a calorie-tracking app, and supplement this with brief, regular phone check-ins with a health coach. This approach helps you stay consistent with tracking your food and activity, which leads to better results than using paper logs or basic pedometers alone. Start with weekly calls and gradually reduce them to monthly as you build habits.
