Excessive training volume (e.g., >20-30 sets per session) may impair recovery and lead to negative adaptations or a plateau in hypertrophy, suggesting an upper threshold exists.

While more sets generally lead to more muscle, there is an upper limit. If you are doing very high volumes (e.g., 20+ sets per session), you may be impairing recovery. Consider distributing volume across multiple sessions or reducing volume to a manageable level (e.g., 10-20 sets per week) to optimize growth. Periodize your volume to avoid overtraining.
