Personalized nutrition delivered via mobile health applications is more effective at improving dietary quality (higher fruit/vegetable intake, lower saturated fat) than generalized 'one-size-fits-all' population-based advice.
Use a mobile app that tracks your food intake to get personalized advice. You do not need to provide genetic or detailed body composition data for the advice to be more effective than generic guidelines. Focus on increasing fruits/vegetables and reducing saturated fats, as the app tailors these targets to your current habits.
The main findings from this study demonstrate that PN (levels 1, 2 and 3) was more effective than a ‘one-size-fits-all’ population-based nutritional advice (control group). The treatment groups showed significantly higher daily fruit and vegetable intake, lower saturated fat intake and had a significantly higher healthy eating index than those in the control group
