Adherence
A low-intensity workplace weight loss program combining proactive phone counseling with a web-based platform can produce clinically significant weight loss (≥5% body weight) in approximately one-third of participants over six months.
If you are busy and find traditional weight loss programs too demanding, a structured but low-intensity program using phone coaching and a website can still help you lose a meaningful amount of weight (around 5% of body weight). Focus on using the self-monitoring tools, especially weight tracking, as they were the strongest predictors of success.
At six months, one third of those who responded to the follow-up survey had lost a clinically significant amount of weight (≥5% of body weight)... this evaluation suggests that even low intensity weight loss programs can lead to clinical weight loss for a significant number of participants.
Why this rating
The study is observational/cohort-based with a low follow-up rate (37%) and self-reported data, lacking randomization and control groups.
