Adherence
Among digital weight loss tools, the use of a weight tracking tool is the most significant predictor of clinically significant weight loss, whereas activity and step trackers were not independently predictive.
If you are using a digital weight loss program, prioritize using the weight tracking feature. This study found that using the weight tracker was the strongest predictor of losing at least 5% of your body weight, while activity trackers did not show the same independent predictive value.
ModerateSupportsMEDIUM confidence
When examining specific features of the web site, the weight tracking tool was the most predictive of weight loss... use of neither the activity tracker nor step tracker was independently predictive of weight loss
Why this rating
Based on the same observational cohort with self-reported data and low follow-up.
