Energy balance
Energy restriction is not supported by scientific evidence for improving glycemic control in Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes.
Current evidence does not support energy restriction as an effective standalone strategy for improving blood sugar in Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes, as studies show little to no benefit compared to other approaches.
LimitedRefutesVERY_LOW confidence
Our study revealed that there is very little evidence on diets... and that the energy restricted diet... is not supported by any scientific evidence.
Why this rating
Very limited evidence; included studies had methodological flaws (e.g., energy intake in restriction group not lower than control).
