Achieving a 5-10% weight loss can significantly lower blood pressure (5-20 mmHg systolic). This benefit is achieved regardless of the method used (diet, exercise, or medication). Targeting at least 10% weight loss is recommended for most patients to see meaningful improvements in obesity-related complications.
