Pima Indian males exhibit significantly lower beta-adrenergic sensitivity (higher chronotropic dose-25) compared to Caucasian males, independent of body fat levels.

This research highlights that Pima Indian men may have a biological baseline of lower heart rate responsiveness to beta-adrenergic stimulation compared to Caucasian men, regardless of weight.
