Low baseline triglyceride levels (<1.7 mmol/L) predict a more sustained and significant weight loss and glycemic response to gastric contractility modulation (GCM) therapy.
If considering GCM therapy, checking baseline triglycerides may help predict success. Patients with lower triglycerides are more likely to experience sustained weight loss and better glycemic control from the device.
