Physical activity is significantly more effective for maintaining weight loss after achievement than for producing initial weight loss.

Use diet to lose the weight and use exercise to keep it off. While exercise has health benefits, it is less effective than dietary changes for initial weight loss. Focus on creating a caloric deficit through food first, then use moderate activity (like 1 hour of brisk walking daily) to maintain your new weight.
