Rapid diet-induced weight loss in NAFLD patients is associated with decreased gut microbial diversity and specific shifts in bacterial abundance, including increased Prevotella_9 and decreased Phascolarctobacterium.

Rapid weight loss changes your gut bacteria, specifically reducing overall diversity and shifting the balance of certain species. While this is a normal response to dietary change, the long-term health implications of these specific shifts (like increased Prevotella_9) are not yet fully understood.
