An 18-month multidisciplinary commercial obesity treatment program combining cognitive behavioral therapy, nutritional advice, and physical activity results in significant weight loss (-10.9 kg), improved cardiometabolic risk factors, and better quality of life in severely obese individuals.

If you are severely obese, a structured 18-month program that combines diet, exercise, and psychological counseling (specifically CBT) can lead to significant weight loss (around 11 kg on average for completers) and improvements in blood pressure, blood sugar, and quality of life. The key is consistency; the program uses financial commitment and flexible scheduling to help maintain adherence. While it requires significant time and potentially money, the health benefits for cardiometabolic risk factors are substantial.

ModerateSupportsMEDIUM confidence
