Cold exposure induces 'beiging' of subcutaneous white adipose tissue, converting it to a brown-like phenotype that increases energy expenditure and improves metabolic health.
Exposing your body to cold can activate brown and beige fat, which burns energy to create heat. This process, called 'beiging,' turns some white fat into metabolically active tissue. While the exact dose is debated, regular cold exposure may help improve metabolic health by increasing energy expenditure.
