Higher red blood cell membrane levels of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (specifically 5.0% of total fatty acids) are associated with a 70% reduction in the risk of primary cardiac arrest compared to lower levels (3.3%).

Maintaining higher levels of n-3 fatty acids in your red blood cell membranes (around 5.0% of total fatty acids) is associated with a significantly lower risk of primary cardiac arrest. This biomarker reflects consistent dietary intake of fatty fish.
